24.03.22 A Day On Foot

Sun. Fresh air. A 5k walk on the Downs around Arundel Lake. This is the old boathouse. People have carved their names on every available centimetre of wood. Nature never gives up. Knock it down, and it keeps on growing. Sunlight through the daffodils in the garden this morning.

12.03.22 #SOCS Trip

My first impression: the hand of catastrophe slapped us, and we are its remnants. It’s 11am. Where are the people? Bond Street is nearly empty. A man is laughing with his girl friend, must be a girl friend, their limbs are entangled like ivy. He’s strapped into a backpack with words LONDON in bold letters.…

My Favourite Community Farm

These are photos I took today during our weekly visit to Tablehurst Farm in Sussex. It’s an organic and biodiverse farm. The butchery is supplied from their own animals. The slow-ferment yogurt, unpasteurised milk, and butter use milk from cows on the farm. They have their own bakery, and fruit and vegetable from their gardens…

A Few Days in The New Forest

22 October: I’m back from a few days of splashing around the New Forest (gosh, what a soggy storm that was the other night!), inhaling the fresh air, relishing no crowds, and a bit of exercise. I do love these ponies, who couldn’t care what we humans, hurried and rushing about, are up to or…

25 August: One Liner Wednesday
Rain filled the old steel bucket, and I emptied it onto the parsley, watched it spread around the chives, the basil, and the thyme, and I recalled that fisherman on the coast casting his net over the sea. Written for Linda Hill’s One Liner Wednesday. Shared with @Experimentsinfc #APoemADay on Twitter Prose and image ©Misky…
