26 Sept: Lake Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere

The town of Bowness-on-Windermere at Lake Windermere. It was from here that we explored the surrounding areas of the Lake District for 5 days.

Regretably, the WordPress Gallery block has no “alt” or caption field for describing each image. Images include a view over Bowness toward the lake and hills; a restored wooden boat for charter tours and small row boats for hire; dry stone wall typical of the area.

    1. Wait until you see the photos from Haworth where the Brontë family lived. No one at all on the streets. The museum was closed, the shops were closed, and even the public loo was locked shut. It was The Queen’s funeral that day.
