Ten Things of Thankful

ten things of thankful with Nyhavn

Still in Denmark and Sweden (thankful for The Bridge) for another week.

(1) Thankful to show the grandchildren Kronborg Castle, aka Hamlet’s Castle, in Helsingør, and (2) then we played in the garden —

A beachball in hand saying silly things like, “Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him well.”

Thank you, Hamlet!

And then down into Kronborg’s dungeon. (3)

We whispered, “I am but mad north-north-west. When the wind is southerly, and I know a hawk from a handsaw.” … and then listened to the echo.

Thanks Mr Shakespeare for the afternoon fun.

A few days later, all 19 of us collected under the same roof for a feast-of-a-lunch, and a fabulous afternoon. (4 and 5) The last time all of us were together at the same time ws fifteen years ago. I am thankful. Truly thankful that we came together for two weeks from Colombia and America and Sweden and here in Denmark.

(6) And then the sky opened and it rained a full day. But never mind rain, we dressed for weather, and visited the Little Mermaid, and ate ice cream.

And … (7) then the children wanted pizza. There was, of course, a lengthy argument over what to put on the pizza, and what to leave off. Then ended up with pasta.

(8) A day at Tivoli. It was crowded. Unbelievably so. Queues for rides snaked around corners and ate up time. I was thankful for a bench in the shade to listen to an old fashion carousel.

(9) Really thankful that wasn’t my dinner…

(10) Fishing boats, and the scent of salt water. Ever so thankful for memories.
