I am still away in the Rhône Alps, so photos are a minimum. I might make a post for them after I’m back home.
- Thankful for the view of Seven Sisters and Beachy Head (aka the white cliffs of Dover) from an offshore aspect whilst in the ferry to France. This was at sunrise so the light was a bit defused.
- To see Chartres Cathedral again. It’s more beautiful than I remember possibly because memory is so precious.
- A sunny day and a long drive through the volcanic hills into Provence.
- Avignon: to see the remains of the palace of the popes; it is not just stone — it is petrified conflict, cold stone where faith fled Rome and rooted into the rock.
- Thankful for the shop assistant who brought me a chair to sit on after a very hard fall caused by collapsed cobbles.
- Unbelievably grateful that I didn’t break a leg or hip or ankle. My elbow is iffy and it’s a mysterious shade of something that shouts “untouchable”, but day by day movement is returning but the bruise is getting larger.
- Thankful for a bag of frozen ratatouille to put on my arm and elbow.
- For mussels and frites and profiteroles — 2 nights in a row!! Heaven.
- Shared joy.
- Six Sentence Story: sourced in the Women’s Toilet at a rest stop outside Sur Fleury.

Ten is in the name, but no one is counting; feel free to link up no matter how many (or few) you can list. Make sure to go read and comment on the posts, too. The TToT has always been big on making this a friendly community, and getting to know each other through posts and comments is a huge part of that. We’re thankful for you!
