6 March: For Sunday Muse

A.I. art. a sleeping woman and a swan

In A Dream With Turquoise Walls

There once was a dream
the colour of Seychelles’ sea,
the colour of origins
and maternal longing,
and there was a swan
who dreamt it sat
on a young woman’s breasts,
thinking that with time
those soft eggs might hatch
into creamy white.

  2. Reminds me of the fairytale where the swan is turned woman and then returned after her misery as wife. I’ve written about it recently as well.

  4. This is stunning. The breast eggs and swanful hopes for future breastmilk are beautiful images. I’m imagining an aging mother praying for grandchildren.

    “the colour of origins
and maternal longing” … Sigh. So gorgeous.
