29 October: It’s Like (Q29.10)

IT'S LIKE

It's like the man who goes too deep in the woods, and overdoses on trees, or

the man who won't part with his right boot 'cause one day he'll find the other one that he lost, or

the husband who eats luminous seaweed, and believes that he'll shine for her all night, or

the woman who wears shoes the colour of red poppies, nobody seeing that her feet bleed, or

the girl who wraps her arms around her lonesome knees, just for companionship, or

the boy who's thin and cold, while the city lights twinkle with joy, or

the old woman whose heart beats alone.

It's kind of like that, when you can't find a way off the path.

    1. I’m very sorry to hear that. It’s not something anyone should have to do.

  2. or the poet who. makes you hold your breath each time you read her verse or prose. 😉 It starts off with such a powerful image and then doesn’t disappoint.

    1. Made a list of 10 random words, although I didn’t use them all, based on Miz Quickly’s boot image. That rabbit is clever.

      1. Indeed! I didn’t follow directions last night. Perhaps I’ll have a go tonight.
