13 August: An Octelle

blood moon

Waiting for the Words to Come

It will come, what I want to say.
Paper. Pen. Held a certain way.
Inspired by that full moon
Whose light fills an empty room.
Those amber and scarlet leaves.
Creek. River. Or ocean breeze.
It will come, what I want to say.
Paper. Pen. Held a certain way.

for dVerse Poets: Poetry Form Octelle. The syllable count is 8, 8, 7, 7, 7, 7, 8, 8, and the rhyme scheme is aa/bb/cc/aa. The first two lines and the last two lines are identical. Photo by Jochem Raat on Unsplash. ©Misky 2022 Shared with #amwriting on Twitter

  1. A nice poem about inspiration coming to you rather than forcing words out.

  4. There is such a thrill when the feeling comes. Here the positioning feels almost like an antenna for the Muse. Love it!
