11 July: July Diaries

11 July (mostly inside today)

He

is afraid of the big bird in the garden,
it wants to eat him, he says.

and says it’s too hot outside but
he’ll have toast anyway.

cereal. no milk. no spoon.

and he’s washing is hands in
his drinking glass. More water, he says.

She

likes Danish cheese, and her legs
are more flexible that wet wicker –

and wedging her toe
under the door to see if it would
fit was not clever. she is minus
one toenail.

she doesn’t like our neighbour.
he’s a doctor.
he poked her toe.

and she says there’s no more loo roll,
and cavemen need loo roll because
they’re human, too. it’s true, they are.

They

are bored as we
pack for 5 days at Centerparcs.

swimming. forest. mosquitoes.

she just bit her brother.

  2. Glad to see you’re still alive.
We used to love CXenterparcs. Booked 3 or 4 years on the trop when daughter was little. Only one we’ve been to in UK is Longleat.
