8 June: For K’s Petite Pen

woman sleeping under tree

A Loose Spool

Here under the trees
where kiwi-green grass
is level as lawn, and

crickets sound like
dry wooden cogs,

midday heat
clings to her
like a russet coat.

  4. I can only imagine some places that are still available for such innocent sleep.
Reminds me of a far away summer cottage. 🙂
