Te Dominus Amat (a cento poem)
And Te Dominus amat was all you said.
Like a dream that makes you
want to go back to sleep.
Magnified apples
appear and disappear
with shades and echoes of
whispered vespers by a hissing lamp.
Blue-horned beetles scratch
against the night sky,
and Te Dominus amat was all you said.
Lines 1 and 10: And Te Dominus amat was all you said (Agape by Timothy Murph). Lines 2 and 3: Like a dream that makes you want to go back to sleep (Momma Said by Calvin Forbes).
