Luminous Chaos

Darkness has a different
light around here,
you can see clouds
crushing against one another.
The breeze pushes them along
like kinetic sheep,
and wind announcing itself
through invisible gaps
in the windowsill.
It sounds transient,
like a train’s last gasp,
wet, metallic and moaning.

The wind seems to blow
darker than deep January.

  1. Your first couplet is very clever; the idea of darkness having a light, marvellous!
