AprPAD: Day 12

A Triolet: In the Spirit of Loaves and Fishes

It’s been rising for an hour,
no loaves & fishes, only bread.
A floury snow across the counter,
it’s been rising for an hour.
In a veil of cloud and pale powder,
on the rug, crumbs will spread.
It’s been rising for an hour,
no loaves & fishes, only bread.

  1. (Glad your baking supplies arrived in time). Triolet works so well here – the ‘it’s only bread’ refrain has a strength and plainness that outweighs all the gourmet tricks. Delicious.
