Northbound on Brighton Road for dVerse

This is a rough draft for dVerse: cubist/impressionist observations during a brief drive on Brighton Road this afternoon.

Northbound on Brighton Road

I.
the road is endless
until it curves away
straight on
eternal blue in clouds

II.
the line is white
centre on
straight
solid
double broken
the radio hums

III.
love, love me do
I still know every word
I hum hum solid,
broken double on

IV.
I want my life to
end happy
Love, Love Me
Do

  3. I agree with the last part. I want my life to end happily also although I don’t think of the ending so much as wanting those present moments to be happy, but I’ll settle for the ending to be happy.

  9. Love that opening verse, Misky, and the reference to the Beatles’ song since I just saw the documentary of them by Ron Howard last weekend.

  11. Every time someone writes of Great Britain, it hops up a notch on my bucket list. Enjoyed the alternation between observing and listening.

  12. Loved the first verse especially. Having lived through the Beatles from beginning to end, I especially enjoyed the first verse. Excellent form on this.
