A Flinch
I was
smaller.
Younger.
Sharper. Like gravel.
I spoke
in consonant chords.
In song.

I’m still like earthquake weather, Grace. To the core.

i like how you use such short lines. when iwas writing mine, i looked back at previous submissions and really liked those that went short on the lines. its like a quick snap. i will try to work on some brevity – it does not take away the impact.

Thought I’d try something different with this one. Works okay, I think.

Such wonderful short lines. I love the brevity of each. I Sometimes think as poets, we try too often to just word it to death. The reason I love the Japanese poetic forms so much. You have certainly said so much with so few words. And you are still earthquake weather! Wonderful.

Very effective poem in all of its brevity. I’ve spent much of my life in earthquake country. It is so unpredictable.
