The Old Woman’s Weather

cartoon drawing of a woman jumping for joy as sun beams hit the solar panels and make electricity.

A Day of Rest: 442 watts

the old woman
pegs laundry
on the line.

the roof
does nothing.

she looks up.

rain gone.
clouds thinning.
washing moving
in the breeze.

the old woman
looks at the roof again

and suspects
it is doing a biblical.

a day
of rest.

  1. I bet she doesn’t even bother with the roof today!

    1. She’ll not complain. We need this rain so darned badly isn’t not funny. But we might see a bit of brightness this afternoon. That’s all we need; sun isn’t required — just brightness.

      1. Yes there’s very much micro and macro things going on. Micro, the grass is green (and still growing!), the river level seems okay and there’s no longer evidence of any kind of drought. But hearing all those statistics on the news…
I’ve always found that my meter ticks over, even when overcast.
