19.10: dVerse Quadrille

B&W shadows from trees on garden wall with moonlight

A Man with Moonlight

she hums sounds of sleep,
soothes her child

as she observes —

behind screened windows,
blotched yellowed-white
by the moon
on the gated garden wall,

a man
walking in the moonlight.

alone.

and in her loneliness,
she wonders what
thoughts and hunger
cross his mind.

  6. A gentle, wistful capture of a man with moonlight, Marilyn. The sound of sleep in the opening line hooked me, and I love the image of the ‘screened windows, blotched yellowed-white by the moon’.
