The Old Woman’s Weather

cartoon drawing of a woman jumping for joy as sun beams hit the solar panels and make electricity.

29.09 – 905 Watts

in Sussex clouds
the old woman asks the roof
to make slow-cooker beef stew

the repairman arrives
says the house alarm
is older than his thirty-year-old son

replaces the battery
old for new
while the roof makes tea
then more tea

because repairmen have hollow legs
they need to fill
like a battery

  1. Because I made my contract 12 years ago, I sell harvested solar energy to the provider ( in a handsome price because they were paying EU penalties at the time).
When that expires in 8 years, then I will put it in the home’s grid… whether they allow it or not 😉

    1. I’m watching the app, and even in very heavy clouds we’re generating enough energy to keep the whole house running free-of-charge (including seeing Lewis qualifying 2nd on telly!!)

    1. Slow cooker. I swear, it’s a little miracle with a plug attached.
