Dan’s Thursday Doors opened the way to share my love of doors — of all sorts. I’ve trawled through my photos and found a few to share. Bushboy (Brian Dodd) also shares photos of doors from his his journeys.

I remember one-hour naps. We had them during our first few years at school also. Cots; brown woollen blankets; basement of the school in a big dark room. Then we were given a glass of juice, and resumed learning to count our fingers. (grinning)
The view through that door is just beyond description. The house (The Old Rectory) is in the midst of North Wessex Downs with its big rolling hills and ancient trees, and one-track roads with turn-outs when another car approaches from the opposite direction — it’s filled with curios from around the world (we are ex-P&O and Mærsk Line); he, the owner of the house, has a motorcycle with a sidecar (that used to have a machine gun mounted on the side) that he bought in Guangzhou from a Chinese soldier for US$50 in the 80s, and then shipped it back to the UK on a P&O ship.
