St Malo France: When doors are medieval gates

Dan’s Thursday Doors opened the way to share my love of doors — of all sorts. I’ve trawled through my photos and found a few to share. Bushboy (Brian Dodd) also shares photos of doors from his his journeys.

  2. That’s a fantastic picture, Misky. What a massive entrance to the city. I wouldn’t have wanted to be responsible for opening the gates.

      1. Yep. An oasis. Have you ever been across to Cancale? Only about 10km, half an hour on the bus. one of the most perfect places I’ve visited.

        1. No we haven’t but we spent a day walking Dinon, which is lovely.

          1. Yeah, I know it. Spent a few decent days there. Also used to stay in Dinard quite a bit. Cancale is east. I

    1. Thank you! I always restock my tinned French sardines from this town (in the old part of the walled city) — for me to eat — I have no cat. 😂
