22 May: Journal of Thoughts

stones stacked and balanced

Tuesday: The Undoing of Next Door

wind tugs
at the beech leaves,

rain in curtains
racing up the street.

the scaffolding drips.

workmen —
hoods up,
yellow rain gear.

the scaffolding
unbolted,
stacked in the van,

disassembled
in minutes.

under an umbrella,

a tray balanced
in her other hand.

the workmen shelter
in the warmth
of the van.

    1. All packed up along with last week’s rainy weather — it’s a long weekend here, and it’s 29C today. Tomorrow 31C. From cold to hot; it’s being hit with a cricket bat. 😂
