21 May: A Thursday Door

Dan’s Thursday Doors opened the way to share my love of doors — of all sorts. I’ve trawled through my photos and found a few to share. Bushboy (Brian Dodd) also shares photos of doors from his his journeys.

  1. Even the door doesn’t want you to enter

    1. I know! I actually laughed out loud when I saw the door knocker, the warning signs, and all the rubble strewn about.

  2. Lots to like here. I love the shadow cast by the lion’s head, and those terrible health and safety notices – all part of the door experience.

    1. It’s like health warnings on top of health warning, topped off with a lion’s head. 😂

  3. That’s a great photo. The lion’s head sends a commanding message, along with the signs.

  5. Is the lion’s head a doorknocker? Great song. It is the only one I know by her- but I do like it.

    1. Yes it is, and that wooden door slides to cover the entrance door to its left. That type of entrance is common in old houses in Normandy.

  7. Wonderful photo and door. I love the contrasts of iron, wood, and the stone work tucked in your photo’s frame. Superb!
