AprPAD — Day 21

apple blossoms in my tree

The Low Down

she sweeps away
white blossoms

from the neighbour’s tree,

from its height,
from its white burst
in April —

a cloud
of lowly intent,

like wrong words
slipped into
a sentence.

    1. She’s brilliant, isn’t she? I knew as soon as I saw Alison sweeping her pavement this morning that I wanted that song (the ticky-tacky song), but I didn’t know that the original recording wasn’t by Seeger. It just popped up in the sidebar of YouTube. 🎶

    1. It’s the neighbour sweeping up petals from my tree. (grinning) And Malvina is a joy to listen to, I agree. I thought it was Pete Seeger’s song, but it’s not!
