0204: Journal of Thoughts

puffer fish swimming in tank with green plants

My sister had three of them behind glass. They’d swim, stunned by their own beauty and grandeur, skimming through long blades of green. First they ate all the smaller fish in the tank, and then the three of them set upon each other until only one remained. And there he swam alone for nearly 15-years. She called him Moses, and no, I don’t know why — to my knowledge that fish never parted water.

  1. I used to have African Clawed Frogs- which ate live goldfish. When a particular goldfish went uneaten for over a week- I bought it its own tank! heheheh this reminded me of that.

    1. So, I’m guessing not so many extra tanks then?

  3. My daughter would collect tiny fresh-hatched frogs from a nearby pond, so I bought a big square tank and furnished it with dirt and water and bags and bags of crickets. She grew up and the tiny frogs disappeared over time. When I finally emptied the tank, there were a few frog skeletons and one really big, fat frog left. Ishda!
