1003: dVerse Quadrille

photo of crow on the limb B&W photo

my dawn crow
arrives —
black oracle of sky
feathered shadow
on winter’s perch.

you listen
to my whispers,
small words to morning’s
final stars.

rise my breath
to your bright eye,
stir the sky,

my crow.
keeper of quiet ways
guardian of unseen paths.

  2. I love the way you see your dawn crow, Marilyn, as a ‘feathered shadow on winter’s perch’. Corvids have that effect on me too.

  5. I have a bit of a love affair with crows, and I adore this, Misky.
“keeper of quiet ways” is perfect…even as they bring their noise. Beautiful.
