2802: SenHai #41

storm clouds in shades of B&W

Senryu
the storm knows my name
it circles what I won’t say
and waits for thunder

Haiku
charcoal clouds ascend
light thins between their clenched fists
rain holds its breath

Senryu (after the squall)
rain cools the skin
but underneath, the old heat
waits its turn again.

  1. Great verses- I like how you’ve included one for after the storm 🙌

    1. There’s always an ‘after the storm’, isn’t there. 🥰

  2. I always fight with this prompt for a couple of hours before I read- and like clockwork you have your beautiful verses already posted! How do you do it?

    1. And I struggle with writing a Six Sentence Story, while you turn out amazing stories every day. You’re a storyteller, and born to it. I’m a poet.

But in this case, I was recalling being one of the crew at a dragon boat race at Repulse Bay — on a very hot day — and then a brief squally storm went through.
