1401: dVerse Quadrille

B&W image of rainy, grey day with trees and road with puddles

Rainy Smile

You ask why I am smiling.
This grey dawn
is its own kind of gift;
the rain’s rhythm
on the windowpane is a hymn I understand—
the world,
in its wet,
patient way,
offers itself to me again.
And I say, yes,
thank you.

  1. Oh, Misky. I feel this, deep in my soul. Sigh. So beautiful.
    I LOVE these lines, especially:

    “the rain’s rhythm
    on the windowpane is a hymn I understand”
