Day 19.1 NovPAD Challenge

ai image B&W of a gnarled oak tree, leafless in the winter.

The Architecture of a Moment

The Architecture of an Edge (Long Form)

Squint against the flat, white sky
and you will see him—
my gnarled oak,
his roiling roots clenched in the earth
like a fistful of stubborn prayers.

He listens to the gibberish of starlings,
a language he once knew
but can no longer shape.

He watches the bubble of a dandelion globe.
A perfect, fragile universe of seeds
come apart beneath a single breath.

Still, he holds his ground.
He has learned that silence
is the only answer worth giving
to a world that shouts so loudly.

Today’s poem-a-day challenge is use 3 of the following 6 words in a poem, or use all 6 if you’re able. Bubble. Dandelion. Gibberish. Gnarled. Roiling. Squint. Poems/prose, some AI/images ©Misky 2006-2025.
