Day 05 NovPAD Challenge

The Architecture of a Moment

Notes: Rooted in the oldest English tradition, Anglo-Saxon accentual verse follows the rhythm of breath and heartbeat rather than syllable or rhyme, where meaning is carried by cadence, image, and pause.

Architecture of a Black Feather

Crow on a leaf-bare branch —
rain-soaked,
plumage bruised to blue sheen.

Polished obsidian,
gossamer slick
of night’s wet ink.

Wings ripple;
iridescence shifts,
and he lifts
into silent flight.

  2. I think that Crows- and in Alaska’s case Ravens are actually iridescent is something that is lost on many people. I cherish the opportunities to see them in all of their splendor- like pools of oil reflecting the rainbow in the sun.
