12 Oct: The Forgiveness of Stones

The Forgiveness of Stones

Senryu

The light reaches down —
a blue forgiveness for all
the stones we carry.

Haiku

Sunlight on cold stone,
drifting through silent blue hymns —
the sea’s breathing glass.

  1. Excellent ink, M.

When I see photos like that, I am reminded how superb Friedrich’s paintings are ( the series of sea underworld)

  2. Wonderful images and, above all, great texts! Especially “the sea’s breathing glass.” The world of stones and their opposite, water, is a fascinating world for me—also a world of thought. Have a relaxed Sunday, Marilyn!

  4. Both beautiful, but as you would expect- being the human that I am- I related to the blue forgiveness for the stones we carry. it felt like an absolution of sorts.

    1. Absolution is in our bones; it’s not a concept to grasp but a state to be remembered — but that’s just me and my ways.

I’m glad you enjoyed reading it.

      1. I just yesterday, got a piece ready to post later this week about absolution. So yes, I absolutely agree.
