Bornholm: 11th century Church

This is the original ‘women’s side door entrance’ — there’s a fertility spell carved in stone on the door’s header written in Elder Futhark runes.

Bushboy (Brian Dodd) shares photos of doors, but not just any doors. Spectacular doors from his journeys. Dan’s Thursday Doors opened the door on this. I love doors of all sorts. I’ve trawled through my photos and found a few to share.

  1. I’m fascinated by doors–some are so beautiful, and some probably tell a story.

    1. I tend toward each one of them as an entrance to another story. I’m glad you enjoyed this one, Rene. Follow the link to Dan’s blog, if you’re interested in joining in — lots of doors there on Thursdays.

    1. Only women of a certain age, I reckon — that’s the women’s door, although nowadays they’re allowed in the main doorway like the men … scandalous! 🤣

    1. Indeed. Very old, and still very much used on a daily basis.
