23.05: A Thursday Door

A door from a flat in Nice, France

for hurried hands of those who come and go,
each scratch and dent is a memory: a hurried
key here, a heavy knock there, all stories.

Poem written for Three Line Thursday “Door”.

Bushboy (Brian Dodd) shares photos of doors, but not just any doors. Spectacular doors from his journeys. Dan’s Thursday Doors opened the door on this. I love doors of all sorts. I’ve trawled through my photos and found a few to share.

  1. What an interesting front door… lovely Nice!
(will she go there, I’m wondering)

    1. She would find lots of small alleyways, hidden away cafes, and interesting shops, but that hill up to the old church is rather steep … but oh my … what a view from there! I wonder if the gargoyles are at the church?!

  2. I love this post. The poem is a wonderful companion to a door that has surely seen a lot in its days.
