18 Apr: Ten Things of Thankful

In no particular order:

1. £65 knocked off the price of switching winter wheels (tyres and alloys) for the summer ones (plus an oil change).

2. A pork loin roast that wasn’t as tough as a shoe and the crackling was perfect.

3. Six more tomato plants set into their permanent summer-long positions.

4. A two-step foot stool with a handle to reach the upper shelves in the kitchen.

5. A new Six series: The Book of 27 unnamed colours—1 of 27: Veilwake.

6. My poetry book: “Still Life” on Amazon UK or Amazon USA (sold 2 this week).

7. A perfect spring day with lots of sunshine, although it was only 5ºc this morning.

8. A headache that goes away.

9. The robin who’s declared war on the ants in the lawn.

10. Dreams that let you fly.

    1. This is the most mind-blowing, completely stunning versions of one of my most treasured songs—it always reminds me of a road trip where we crossed the Continental Divide, and because I have real issues with left and right, we crossed again, and just because I was the map-reader, we crossed ir again. And I am ever so thankful that I slid gracefully into the age of sat-nav before losing myself completely. Thank you.

    1. The 27 is strictly on here for now, but it will be published also when it’s finished—in poetry form rather than Six Sentence Stories. ❤️

  4. A robin declaring war on ants! I didn’t realize they would do such a thing, but I can see how it would be very helpful.

  6. Number 10!!*

and allows me to cite one of my fave writers and his perfect zen instruction, Douglas Adams on ‘How to fly’ (without mechanical aids): “Throw yourself at the ground…and miss.”

    1. Douglas Adams! Hurrah for Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. It’s the absolute best—and only way to fly *
