27 March: Ten Things of Thankful

In no particular order:

1. I’m thankful that the footpath leading from the source of the River Mole (this river is West Sussex’s River Styx—it disappears underground and never resurfaces, hence it’s name, Mole)—anyway, the footpath has finally dried in the spring sunshine, and it’s navigable on foot again without slipping.

2. And I’m thankful for stinging nettles’ new growth, with which I filled a small paper bag.

3. To sit in the afternoon spring sunshine, listening to Breaking Boundaries latest Remake song, and drinking freshly steeped nettle tea with honey.

4. Thankful for allium ursinum/wild garlic (I can’t recall what they’re called in America, but they’re not called wild garlic), and filled another small paper bag with those—chopped up for salads and in scrambled eggs and curry and pesto and, well just about anything really.

5. I’m thankful for memory: allium ursinum, or wild garlic is called ramps or wild leeks in North America.

6. Prosery – a poetry form where prose is given pause with interspersed couplets.

7. Roadtrips – Brigid, Nick-the-Gatekeeper, Hünga, and Bob-the-Hob cross the River Mersey. I am so glad that I was encouraged to join Denise’s Six Sentence Story.

8. 99%

9. To see a work in progress—from a primordial spark, fluidity to shape, each twist and turn and try, and to be swept along on its wave—and a tear.

10. A greenhouse full of seedlings. Asters. Zinnias. Cosmos. Marigolds. Cucumbers. Tomatoes. Jalapeño peppers. Crescere est crescere in se.

    1. Things are growing so fast now the temperatures are rising and the sun is shining more regularly. Even the trees are showing a green tint.

  3. …there you are!

    lol

funny how the patterns of the people we associate with in this virtual world very much asserts an influence and a change is quite… “Hey! where is…”

(which is a good thing, the essence of community, some would say, is the size of the gap left in one routine (when another) alters their own (even inadvertently).

(really enjoyed Grats #4, 5… the essence of how not different our associations in the virtual world are from the real, physical world…. )

    1. Yes, I’m here, 🤣 and I’m usually a victim of my own trackable routines, but this time I forgot to link up. I think I posted too early (Thursday) and the linkyporta wasn’t open.
