9 Feb: 12 Minutes Past 8

Twelve Minutes Past Eight (A List Poem)

Chimney
Smoke in curls
Grass hard with frost
2 doves pacing the roof ridge
Scent of oatmeal
A spoon stirring coffee
A blackbird singing in the apple tree
Ice melting in drips
Clock-radio playing upstairs

    1. I sit with my coffee. I’m the only one up and about yet. The house is on the verge of waking, and this is perfect. Good morning.

  1. Wonderful, Misky! Very meditative. I’m sure you’ve spent a lot of time with haiku! This poem will accompany me throughout the morning and I’m currently listening to Clare Uchima & Hinako Omori 🙂 Thank you and have a nice Sunday!
