In no particular order:
1. It was a movie recommendation from a dear friend for which I am very thankful: The Fountain. It lingers in my thoughts and has wormed its way into my psyche. I simply cannot set it aside in my mind.
My husband (who shall in the future be referred to as P even though his first name begins with J) … fell asleep in the first 10-minutes.

2. I am overjoyed that Luisa and Nico (my grandchildren who are still visiting for one more week) love the trees in ‘my forest’ as much as I do. They’ve claimed this one as their tree. They spent an afternoon climbing on it.

3. For toys that silently wait on the stairs. I am thankful for that they know bedtime is not negotiable if they want a story read to them.

4. Nico said, “Nana, don’t you clean the house?” upon finding a spider on its web in the conservatory. I told him this particular spider is our ‘house spider’ and that finding her during Jul (or Christmas) means you’ll be lucky all year. Then he asked, “What is luck.” I’m thankful that my son stepped in with an explanation. Here’s the tale of the Christmas Spider as my grandmother told it to me when I was child. It’s all about tinsel.

5. When two sides go to war, 🎶 toy-style. I’m thankful that after a bit of catapulting action that a truce was drawn.

6. I shall be eternally thankful to children and their parents who will travel 5,281-miles (or 8.500 kilometres) so I can hug them and create life-long memories.

7. Grateful for those who accept and follow the house rules.

8. Camellias that bloom in the winter. A blessing. This is in the hyper extreme category.

9. Thankful to reflect calmly from the long-view. A photo taken from the outside of an artist’s shed. A reminder: view things from the outside-in.
“Your vision becomes clear when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakens.” – Carl Jung

10. I am always thankful the magic of flowers and candles … and finally, for every last one of you, but who’s counting.
