Lost …
many a young soldier’s name
to song or story, who gave their life
for someone’s glory.
A banner of war
that the centuries sigh for –
A banner over fields
that their spirits still cry for –
It’s some other’s dream that
they were called to died for.
Let our hearts not forget what filled
their own hearts with hope.
