In no particular order:
1. A healthy sourdough starter for my black pepper rye bread. It is yummy with smoked salmon and some chopped onion.

2. After being put off painting ever again, I decided to see if I was still as rubbish at it as once described. I’m thankful that watercolour is forgiving and that 300 wgt cold press paper doesn’t dissolve like toilet paper (that’s “loo roll” for us here in West Sussex) when defaced with liquid.

3. Come on INEOS Britannia! You’re in the final of the America’s Cup. Gosh, how I do miss sailing. (photo from their archives – Creative Common licence)

4. Sunflowers unaffected by chilly weather (2° overnight).
5. Bees still busy with flowers.

6. Birds. This magpie eats from my hand. There’s also a robin that sits on my foot when I’m gardening. It waits for me to turn the soil and expose worms and bugs. English robins are small, like a sparrow. This magpie is roughly the size of a crow.

7. Autumnal petrichor, and a walk in the forest near my house. A picture is worth a thousand words, so I’ll not say more about th….

8. Manhole covers (it’s a “thing” I do). This one is from Svendborg, Denmark.

9. (th) …at (continuing from #7 – same forest). Birch trees that still hold on to green in mid-October. This photo is interesting – there’s a lot going on it (reflections and shapes) that I didn’t see through the lens when I took the shot.

10. A greenhouse full of tomatoes. The plants are tired and have seen better days, but the tomatoes keep on coming and ripening. Hurray! Salads. Sandwiches. Snacks. With mayo.
