6 October: Five Minutes of Stream of Consciousness

A Stream of Consciousness While (Listening to Radio 2 Segment: Hiking in Scotland)

Butter’s singing and the frying pan is hot. (raised outside)  Turn cubes of stale sourdough with a fork when golden, turn and turn again. Turn – (she’s in great shape) left and right, if left, I mean right, think … which hand do I hold a pen, right (silly) right, I’m a leftie turned right handed. Still use scissors with my left, left foot dominate, haven’t kicked anyone since the 3rd grade. (a million gnats) I loved halloween at school when I was that age. Dunking for apples. (matter of fact) Big fat red wax lips that tasted like wax but smelled like cherries. Cherry stones – I must find a plastic drinking straw – can’t find one since they’re banned. Cherry stones pop right out (that’s the perception at least) when you push a plastic straw through the cherry. Pie. Blackberry pie. Oops. Have they burnt? Turn your back and (limping for life) things burn. No, they are a lovely deep colour of amber (sunny contentment). Like that beer I had last weekend. Zero alcohol. Piss, I’m told. Doesn’t taste like piss at all … never tasted piss, so yeah maybe so. Fork bread into croutons. (that’s the perception at least ).

    1. Lyrics and a pure voice to warm a heart on a chilly autumn morning. Thank you.

  1. I’m very wary of blackberry pie. Or was it blackcurrant? Ever since my mum made some as a kid and it turned everyone’s poo green!

    1. Blue mixed with bile, which is yellow, would cause that … although I must say it’s never happened to me.🤣

  2. Delightful, clever too, even if you have given me second thoughts about the Becks Blue nought-percerter I was about to imbibe!

    1. Try Peroni Zero if Beck’s Blue makes you hesitant.

  3. So liking the details!

The mention of leftie nature caught my attention & I do recall the days of schools bent on changing that true nature in children. Thankful for my two little granddaughters, aged 5 & 1.5, lefties & loving it, that those days have passed. Nature rules, methinks.🍁💕

    1. A completely silly notion in hindsight to rewrite a child’s brain. Glad you liked it. Thank you.

  5. What an amusing concept. I tend to drown in my stream of consciousness! https://rolandyeomans.blogspot.com/2024/10/how-do-you-kill-zombie-building.html
