22 August: dVerse Bends

B&W fork in. a river, winter scene

Swept Along

I was that child
carving channels down headlands,
like unconquerable water

around bends, I spread and filled,
broadened and was swept along.
Currents tossing aside

old dreams for new ambitions;
my heart grew wise,
and now this old river

gropes for one more bend.

  1. Life forces us down some wild channels that is true … but we choose how to steer them, right? 🙂 https://rolandyeomans.blogspot.com/2024/08/no-order-to-chaos-chapter-eleven-girl.html

  2. I like your “this old river.” Like how you time traveled in your poem. Great musical selection to go with it, Misky.

  3. Love the title and the story woven of time and age. Reaching out for one more adventure, being swept along in time.
