16 April: NaPoWriMo

AI art: two white row boats floating on a calm water

Quietness

Why not always.
I will be the calmness
of the sea,

where I will unravel your knots.
I will be the daughter of high tide, and you
will be my window.

Why not always,
for your wading and for your washing.

Why not always
be in my high waters running deep,
and rebel wild.

Why not always
in a room dark as honey, under sheets
thin as skin.

Why not always when
the sun spoke
to us.

    1. This is a remarkable sound, so different from anything I’ve listened to recently. I’m exploring their other music on Spotify now. Thank you so much for sound-tracking this poem.
