5 January: Home Again

AI artwork: snowy forest with a white wolf

Home Again

I am home.
Morning air is sharp and cold.
The grass is hard with frost,
and roofs shine white.

The trees are bare and stark
and standing noble and alone.
Nature’s human reflection.

I will take us to the forest today.
A walk with imagery and symbols
and allusions to mythology.

A walk, where she’ll run tension
from her muscles, and I will breathe
air fresh from trees, and I’ll find
my place amongst it all again.

My feet leave the comfort of bed,
touch the cold floor, and I know
I am home again. I am re-rooted.

    1. Chills. Time to pick up where things were left. But not quite yet.

  1. Jim was just quoting Scott at me. “…this is my home, my native land.” Scott’s Scottish nationalism.
You are in your chosen home, not just some nest you were laid in.
