The Rehearsal: Broken Epitaph

there’s the conversation
perhaps there’s rain and cold

a broken story unfolds

no I don’t know what they say,
and does it matter anyway

all those cracks in cords, those oaths,
play 4 and then 4 again, play one
of those endless pieces with

cracks in mirrors and souls
that fall apart

and then the music stops
it teases the dark within my heart

this is how to rehearse
this is how to deconstruct

a broken epitaph

    1. I’m fascinated by their sound, so I spent much of the day learning about them. That rehearsal tape was mentioned in an article so I went out looking for it. I loved that I had no clue what they were saying. That’s what I needed. Their sound; my words.

    1. Good morning, P. I reckon everything worth while requires hard work and rehearsal.

  3. What a fun concept and handled so adroitly. I’ve seen rehearsal tapes of the Beatles in their latter days, and I wonder that there was not violence. 🙂 Nicely done, Misky!

    1. Thank you, Roland! Isn’t adroit a simply brilliant word? It’s dropped out of my vocabulary for some reason. I’ll be at yours this evening. Looking guessed to reading your latest. ❤️
