15 October: Seige

AI artwork, B&W monochrome, twisted tree branches, woman head bowed melancholy

A Black Coat

tonight’s deep dark is shining
tonight is a seeping melancholy

it’s pure as the moon is clean

bodies fragrant as the garden of eden
dreams emptied of sleep
and death washed

she’s at his grave – neither dead nor gone

the ripe smell of paradise
the rise and fall of demons
war’s antiquity is overflowing

into those dark circles round her eyes

  1. I feel like your poetry has taken quite a new direction the last month or so. It has a mystical quality to it. I can hear your voice but the language is different. I like it! I like both. I just wonder if there is an event or an influence that has brought on the change. Or if it is something only I perceive? I don’t mean you must answer these questions. It’s just interested pondering on my part.

    1. My very perceptive friend. 🥰 It’s a combination of many recent events. One’s voice is never a single entity.

      1. My voice is a washing machine. Never know if I’m pulling out a sock or a ball gown.
