1 September: A Return to Where

A Return To Where

I’ve seen the mystery of life
leave me in drips and drabs.

I’ve seen ancient redwoods drop
its needles like komorebi light.

I’ve shed my body heat for cirrus
clouds. I’ve wished on stars,

and watched a harvest moon
bleed its way across the sky.

I am innumerable atoms,
I am decomposing chemistry,

and it doesn’t matter what
life lessons I take, there’s always

a beginning,
a middle,
and an end.

    1. Thank you so much, David! I’m in a bit of gloomy mood today. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be more lighthearted.

        1. Aah thanks so much, sis. I’ll bet Nick didn’t get a notification either then. If it arrives tomorrow, shout so I know what’s up with it, please.
