A Quinzaine Poem: 04.07.23

Squirrel sitting on the lawn
Are you watching me
Watching you

Bumblebees at the thistles
Are you still thirsting
For nectar

Robin in the tree singing
May I sing with you
A duet

The garden is marking time
Does it see its end
Like I do

    Nice series, Misky. I think combining the two question into one with the 2nd 2 lines is, like Jane’s take, another variation. Lots of possibilities with this form.

    You got something from this form that eluded me. The questions are wistful, poignant, and the last one gives the series a finality, even if there is no answer.

        The form had the same irritating effect on me too. Just another gadget form with no redeeming feature. It can go in the bag with the unnecessary brackets, slashes, ellipses and that infuriating fashion for shoving bits of a line across to the other side of the page.

    I think you did very well with this form and I am inspired to try it but I am beginning to struggle with poetry overload and feel it’s time to start revising some of my novel draft – still – a Cadralor – hmmm -still feeling inspired Misky…
