29 June: Morning Grass

Day 29. Describe the feeling of walking barefoot on cool, damp grass.

Morning Grass

I’m a long shadow on morning,
staring at the moon tiptoeing
cool as a blossom underwater.

Here I’ll stay in gleaming grass,
in your womb of dew-drip moss,
your green abyss and pastures.

Morning grass, a chalice of dew,
credo to a song that rakes
at my margins,

and here I’ll stay
until I think like morning grass.

      1. Good morning Misky – I am alone in the office this morning as its Eid! I hesitate to mention this when you are reeling in the last days of a month long challenge but I signed up for the Poetry Postcard Fest – sending 31 postcards to a cohort who could be anywhere in the world with a spontaneously written poem on the back…

        1. LOL! Good luck with that. The very idea of it makes my shoulders sag. Happily, I shall be away for most of July, although I have a pencil and notebook with me.
