2 June: Day 1 #theWildness

landscape, dirt road curing into the distance, large oaks overhanging the road, green meadows, dramatic cloudy sky

Day 1. Sounds when you step outside

A Touch Of Earthiness

A colonnade of old oak trees
Its leaves delicate on a breeze.
It cuts the air

Like a brush of silk
Soft
High-pitched.

To dance to,
To weave
Through branches,

A sound to ebb
And flow
With my heartbeat.

  1. What a great start to my day. I am fortunate enough to live where the sounds of the city are hushed. So I can hear the cry of the egret greeting the day. Lovely answer to the prompt. https://rolandyeomans.blogspot.com/2023/06/remember-this-heartbeat-for-it-is.html

  3. Oak trees… M, you have a strong connection with them ( and they with you).

    1. They’re fascinating. You can read their bark like braille.
