25 May: A Thursday Door

Black and white photo of an old wooden barn and its very large sliding door. Work sheds in the background. winter-bare tree in the foreground.

Bushboy (Brian Dodd) shares photos of doors, but not just any doors. Spectacular doors from his journeys. Dan’s Thursday Doors opened the door on this. I love doors of all sorts.

This photo is of The Tablehurst and Plaw Hatch Community Farm Coop in eastern Sussex. They are a biodynamic, organic farm where we buy most of our meat and dairy. We call it the hippy farm, well … because we’re of that generation and whenever possible we’ll support local farming and produce before stepping into a supermarket chain.

  1. I love that barn! It’s good that you support these farmers. I’m sure the produce they grow is better for you than the stuff on the shelves at the supermarket.

    1. And they make the best cheese from lovely Jersey cows.

  2. As Dan wrote I am sure their produce is without some of the harmful chemicals found on the edibles in groceries. Better tasting I bet, too. 🙂 https://rolandyeomans.blogspot.com/2023/05/questions-to-ask-if-you-wish-better-life.html

  4. First thing I saw, without reading your caption:
This door looks like it leads to a place from which people never return.

    1. Really! Gosh, that’s really interesting. It’s filled with baled hay, animal feed, farm equipment, polytunnel frames, and stuff like that. The children of people who work on the farm love playing in there. You can hear them laughing and chasing each other around.

      1. Oh, I’m sure it’s all that, especially after reading your caption.
That was my first impression before reading anything about the place.
