29 April: A-to-Z Challenge

AI Artwork: pollen on the wind from snow covered pine trees

Y is for Yellow Snow

In golden waves,
and in your eyes.
A blinding language.

This pollen,
is a Midas fog.
From pines, drifting

on winter’s last snow.

But the boy’s three,
and everything’s
about wee and pee.

  1. From the title, I immediately thought of peed on snow but then was delighted by learning a new fact about seasonal phenomena creating an alternative yellow snow. But the you brought it back to pee in the end anyway lol…

            1. I wonder if that will translate correctly across the pond… it has nothing to do with peeing.

            2. 😂 Nope! I’ve enough UK friends to know it means means to make fun of or have fun with … right? Just like here we say “he’s a real pisser”. Nothing to do with bodily functions 🤣

  3. That’s not a typo. “means means” means someone really means it! 🤣

  4. My supervisor “means means” all the time … usually at full volume! 🙂 Autumn is my favorite time of year when the trials of summer are over and before the withering of winter begins. https://rolandyeomans.blogspot.com/2023/04/x-is-for-not-what-you-might-think.html

    1. I used to love autumn, Roland, but no longer. Winter is unkind to our family. It takes away our elderly and ill. It’s always winter. I find myself living for spring, knowing I’ve survived another winter.

  7. A clever bit of verse. My mind couldn’t stop from thinking about Frank Zappa’s song “Don’t Eat the Yellow Snow”. Such a funny idea–but authentic.

  9. Nice job twisting things around … now the question is which is more unwelcomed … the pollen or the pee? (https://www.erinpenn.com/blog/)
