14 April: A-to-Z Challenge

AI artwork: lightning striking the ground, dark storm clouds, and a single autumn colour tree

L is for Lightning

From a hearth of seared light
attuned to bare stoney earth,
from the sky’s broken edge
it speaks from another world.

It’s obscure words weather,
like amicy.

For A-Z Challenge. Lightning: (abbrev. LTNG) A visible electrical discharge produced by a thunderstorm. The discharge may occur within or between clouds, between the cloud and air, between a cloud and the ground or between the ground and a cloud. Written for the A-to-Z Challenge. Declared theme for the challenge is Weather. AI Digital Artwork is created using Midjourney. Imagery and poems ©Misky 2023 Shared on Twitter #amwriting #atozchallenge @midjourney @AprilA2Z

  1. This was accompanied by a Hurdy Gurdy in my short-circuited brain.
Begs for a few more verses.

    1. Glad that the shortness of the verse inspired your brain to add its own backstory.

  2. I love “from the sky’s broken edge”.

    1. We had a crack of thunder overhead earlier this week that sounded like the sky was tearing apart. If not for my recent back injury, I’d have flown out of the chair.

  3. I’ve seen “the sky’s broken edge” a time or two with too many hurricanes. Again a masterful verse.https://rolandyeomans.blogspot.com/2023/04/l-is-for-friendhip.html
